When we started our reflective belt campaign in 2002 in Lakewood (NJ), the first challenge was for the concept of wearing reflective belts (when out at night) to be accepted as normal by adults and children . Some didn't even know then what a reflective belt was. If you ask around now, everyone understands that being visible is the right thing to do that may save their life.
Although many people have visibility wear in their front closet, in a drawer somewhere or in their glove compartment the challenge that always remains is remembering or taking the time to put on a reflector. A solution for this is using regular day to day items and apparel that are visible on their own
There are many jackets, backpacks, shoes, and
bicycle accessories out there that now have included reflective stripes and lights in their design. Innovation in this area is ongoing.
We have designed durable and comfortable reflective shoulder straps (in a variety of colors). Reflective straps can be used as a replacement for carrying your briefcase, laptop, binder, messenger or hand bag. It is also easily detachable and can be worn as a reflective sash on its own. We are working on bringing in more everyday fashionable
reflective apparel that you will love for this coming fall and winter when the nights get longer (we will keep you posted). Good luck with the back to school rush and don't forget to be safe and seen!
