Lakewood Township took a stand and stopped paying the electric bill to JCP&L because of the many burnt out street lights.
They didn't just "stand by" and wait for the lights to get fixed. Last night while most of us were sleeping "Project Lights On" was in full swing until after 2 in the morning.
About 40 volunteers combed the streets of Lakewood equipped with flashlights,
reflective belts and clipboards marking down over 300 burnt out lights. Mayor Miller said he would not go to sleep until he was sure that every single pole in town was accounted for.
